if there is no reason against this for omap, same would be reasonable to
take for all other linaro SoC kernels.

** Description changed:

- i have cat /proc/cmdline
+ on panda using todays nano and hwpack, i have
+
+ cat /proc/cmdline
  console=tty0 console=ttyO2,115200n8
root=UUID=9745ec7e-490e-4d9a-ad70-4b0e98775fbc rootwait ro earlyprintk fixrtc
nocompcache vram=32M omapfb.vram=0:8M mem=463M
ip=192.168.178.100::192.168.178.1:255.255.255.0:panda1:usb0:off

  however, ip is not properly set up...

  I think we have to enable:

  http://kernel.xc.net/html/linux-2.6.18/i386/IP_PNP

  would be great to understand why ubuntu has opted-out for having this.

  after checking with ubuntu kernel team, in the same run enabling NFSROOT
  support for linaro /ubuntu kernel might be worthwhile as well.
