Christopher, this is already in the 'info' page.  Please keep in mind
that the 'info' pages are the ultimate source of documentation for
coreutils; the 'man' pages are a summary, and are generated from the
programme's help call (please compare '/usr/bin/dir --help' and 'man
dir').

As such, the help (and 'man' page) are necessarily reduced. But both
point to the 'info' pages for complete documentation.

So... I am not sure we really need to say, in the help, that 'dir' is
equivalent to 'ls -C -b'
