Anon, I think this is actually a duplicate of bug #533985. If the .Z's
were just helpful, but fallback was allowed, would that address the
issue? Please review that bug report (and the fix I submitted) and if
you agree, comment back here or (if you can) mark this bug as a
duplicate of it.
