Hello Marek and James. I'm going to mark this as 'Invalid/Wishlist' for the moment as it's not a bug as-such and nor are there any easy patches to evaluate/test show the suggested improvements side-by-side. There's some clearly some ideas that we could look into this further, but ideally if we work out wish of the following you're mainly interested in, we could follow that up on a specific (new) bug report:
1. If you're suggesting individual gradual improvements to the default Ubuntu/Light Themes, please file those! And thank you in advance! 2. If you're interested in seeing your new theme packaged in Ubuntu Universe we could do that too with the Masters of the Universe team, if it is suitably different (perhaps upload it to http://gnome-look.org/ as a first-stage and gauge the reaction). 3. We could look at including more variation of the themes in 'upstream' source beyond Ambiance and Radiance, and build these only for universe. The question is then one of maintenance: the less that a particular theme or codepath gets used, the more likely it is to miss out on testing and have bugs in it. If you're after (3) it would be best to test it in the wild and see the reaction from wider testing (GNOME-Look community and see if you can get some traction). For (2) it would also be best to prove it has an audience. And for (1), small incremental changes are always appreciated! The smaller the individual and the better the accompanying rationale the easier it is to review. Note also that we're about to hit feature freeze for Ubuntu, so once the release is out in April it would be best to get any ideas together for discussion at UDS. ** Changed in: light-themes (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist ** Changed in: light-themes (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/733604 Title: Modify Radiance into new theme - Luminance -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
