Hi, I have come back again with the problem of the same kind (I don't hear any audio sound in my earphones as well as in my laptop speakers). I tried using this method provided by you previously but it doesn't seem to work. This time I installed a fresh copy of ubuntu 10.10 and I came up with the same problem. This time there is some more problem; I have to login through the recovery mode to get in to the linux OS (use the recovery mode for just one session). The default mode of linux doesn't seem to load, displaying the message that the resolution isn't supported.
I had a good support from you people last time. I am sure you can find a way out for this problem too, this time. My laptop is of the same version Sony VAIO VPCEB21FG.
