Nope, no kpartx installed. Tried booting with the options you gave me, saw about 10 seconds and hundreds of udev messages flash by and then it froze. Will try again tomorrow and see if I can get past that point.
Attaching the most recent log files I found. The extension 'knip' means 'snip' because they contained logs dating back to january and are pretty large. I removed everything before march 11, hence the 'snip'. cheers Tom ** Attachment added: "dmesg" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/631795/+attachment/1931473/+files/dmesg ** Attachment added: "dmesg.0" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/631795/+attachment/1931474/+files/dmesg.0 ** Attachment added: "kern.log.1" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/631795/+attachment/1931475/+files/kern.log.1 ** Attachment added: "messages.1.knip" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/631795/+attachment/1931476/+files/messages.1.knip ** Attachment added: "syslog" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/631795/+attachment/1931477/+files/syslog ** Attachment added: "syslog.1.knip" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/631795/+attachment/1931478/+files/syslog.1.knip ** Attachment added: "udev" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/631795/+attachment/1931479/+files/udev -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/631795 Title: [LUCID, MAVERICK, NATTY] udev has a race condition with device mapper devices -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
