Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools
There is no way to create entries that look like this in /etc/network/interfaces from the network admin tool, or from ad-hoc networking. iface wlan1 inet dhcp wireless-essid mySSID wireless-key restricted aabbccddeeffaabbccddeeff auto wlan1 Specifically there is no way to add the 'restricted' keyword to the set- up when a key is added. This is required for WiFi on my Fujitsu stylistic st4110p (prism2 or orinoco, doesn't matter what i use on feisty. on edgy only the orinoco drivers worked) to work correctly with the slightly wonky AP set-up I'm using. The problem is that this makes it impossible to use this interface in roaming mode, so i need to manually configure it for roaming and manually reenter the restricted keyword and key into the /etc/network/interfaces wwhen i'm done. Also, the dual interfaces (wifi0 and wlan1) are really confusing for new users. Is there a way to determine in a generic manner that configuration should only be done on the actual wlanX interface? ** Affects: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- no way to specify mode restricted in network admin https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/106777 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
