My system with snd_hda_intel makes loud popping sounds whenever I suspend and resume it. One of them is loud or severe enough to cause my hi-fi amplifier to go into automatic shutdown mode, and I'm worried that it may damage my speakers.
If I enable power_save=1, as suggested by powertop, then this happens about 2 seconds after any audio finishes playing as well, so I suspect it's related to putting the sound card in or out of suspend mode. I will report this upstream with this bug# as a reference. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/184632 Title: Enabling snd_ac97_codec powersave mode makes loud pops -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
