Public bug reported:

This doesn't allways happen, and seems to happen somewhat randomly...but
more often when I have several things open when I initiate hibernate.
The window manager comes back up, all applications are up, but alt+tab,
right click, the whole works doesn't work. Using beryl as my window
manager...I *think* I remember this happening with gnome too. Anyways,
opening up the system panel and trying to kill things manually
eventually causes the whole system to crash...as in ctrl+alt+backspace
won't even work.

Using Feisty

** Affects: Ubuntu
