the package python-qwt3d-qt4 is affected by the same bug. the same solution works. to execute the bug try to .setMesh(31,41) on a parametricSurface (or more simply run the http://pyqwt.sourceforge.net/examples3d/ParametricSurfaceDemo.py.html example)
