@Stephen I presume you're the 1 other person who has indicated you're affected by this bug (as you're currently the only other person who is subscribed). Is that the case?
This bug report indicates that the problem started with ubiquity 2.5.23 and did *not* occur with ubiquity 2.5.22. But you also (and previously) reported bug 729870, which resembles this bug but occurred with ubiquity 2.5.22. In fact, I read your bug report before submitting this one, and it was that difference that convinced me to file a separate bug report instead of indicating that I was affected by your bug. So, if you're the other person who has indicated that you're affected by this bug, was that by accident (not realizing that this bug really is only different from your bug 729870 in that this bug didn't occur with ubiquity 2.5.22), or are you *separately* (i.e. on a *different* test machine, which worked with ubiquity 2.5.22) affected by this bug? If you are actually affected by this bug, then has this bug (on whatever test machine it occurs on) gone away as of the latest daily-live (i.e. 25-Mar-2011)? (Of course, I realize that, assuming that this bug and bug 729870 really are separate bugs--which might not actually be the case--it would be possible for the same machine to suffer from *both* bugs simultaneously; the failure to proceed past the first installation step would simply be overdetermined, in that case.
