Hi,

You can consider this bug resolved.

On 3/24/2011, I downloaded updates for Natty, and there was an update to
GRUB. I am now using the following versions

grub-common 1.99~rc1-5ubun GRand Unified Bootloader, version 2 (common
grub-pc 1.99~rc1-5ubun GRand Unified Bootloader, version 2 (PC/BIOS

After the update I ran the command "grub-install /dev/sda1" then the
"grub-update" command and the computer now boots automatically when
powered on (as opposed to having to manually enter the boot commands).

Note that previously running the grub-update command did not solve the
problem.

Thanks so much for working on Ubuntu - it's great.
