Well, on my SL500, none of the maverick kernels 2.6.35-22-generic to 2.6.35-28-generic resolved the problem. When it fails, it locks up and eventually the fan starts going full throttle. After sitting like that for a while (possibly overnight), it often has to be hard powered off before turning back on. I assume the system is overheating at that point.
About a week ago I installed the lucid-updates kernel 2.6.32-30-generic , and I've not seen the issue since. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/670092 Title: Ubuntu 10.10 crahes while activating standby mode -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
