As soon as dmesg doesn't contain "unknown key xxx" that means that the
key is successfully mapped and you can associate an action to it. It's
just a matter of configuration, and if you want these keys to work out
the box, you can create a new bug for each key.

I't ok, there is no way for eeepc-wmi to guess the current value.
