I will check tonight when I get home. This is the first time I have used
an alpha product and am sometimes unsure what I shouldbelooking for

I don't understand this bug.  According to the stack trace, this crash 
happened because 
/usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/com.canonical.indicator.datetime.gschema.xml 
is not installed (it's part of the indicator-datetime package). 

But it must be installed because the panel is trying to load 
/usr/lib/indicators/5/libdatetime.so (also provided by the indicator- 
datetime package). 

Patrick, do you know whether that package is installed correctly?
