Public bug reported:

On my Sony VAIO VGN-A617S audio works through the laptop speakers so
also does the microphone and the headphone jacks. But when I connect the
docking station Sony VGP-PRAV2 A/V docking station which has a digital
amplifier, audio is muted on the laptop speakers but nothing comes out
of the external speakers (VGP SP2) connected to the docking station. The
USB slots and the battery charger on the docking station works well
though.

Using the Realtek HD-Audio drivers for WinXP these speakers/docking-
station is working fine.

I have been trying hard with the hda-verb and hda-analyzer utility and
also with all the model-names that could be added into alsa-base.conf as
'options snd-hda-intel model=xxx' for ALC260, but to no avail. This
thread I have opened - http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=10601237
- adds some more details to this.

Thank you in advance.
