No sound from Skype, VLC, ALSA plugin in Firefox, no login sound.
Speakers checker running silently.
In gnome-volume-control: proper device and profile selected for output,
all slidebars at 100%, mute checkboxes unchecked.

Sometimes sound appear after rebooting for a while.
