I wonder if there was something upgraded that caused the problem, because I cannot sync with Zire 31 after installing Dapper this weekend.
I was using pilot-xfer and jpilot on Debian/Sarge, kernel 2.8.6. I had a line in the udev rules for it. I checked the source for visor which said the ID is 61. I did this, because in the past I had to modify the source and recompile visor. I am using the same line from the udev rule I had on Debian. I checked with udevinfo and found that the the device is using the same thing that /dev/pilot is linking to (/dev/ttyUSB1) I checked the visor source code in the 2.6.15-26 kernel and it is also showing the ID as 61. I do notice that /dev/pilot and the visor module are not present until I hit Hotsync. I think this used to occur when I simply plugged the device in. I get the error message that I need to tap Hotsync even though I already have. Cancel and repeat the Hotsync which had occasionally been necessary in Debian, but that doesn't help. I'm not using gnome-pilot, but just pilot-xfer; so the problem seems to be not with gnome-pilot. Where should this bug be filed?
