So you think the bug is in cups, not evince, although xpdf and Adobe Reader
work well? However, my version of cups is: 1.4.4-6ubuntu2.3.
Since it is marked incomplete, tell me what else you need.

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: evince

Evince only prints a "matrix" of any given pdf documents, and I tried
very different ones. You see only stripes and points on the printed
paper. All pdf documents are printed correctly with Adobe Reader for
  Linux on the same system.
