  I was selecting multiple files (drag with mouse) on the Desktop
  I was able to see, during the crash, the gnome desktop behind the scene with 
my old background, the icons as i left the last time and the gnome-panel 
running.

  Nouveau in place, removed video:uvesafb since it prevents nouveau from
