According to openprinting.org 
(http://openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Xerox-Phaser_3116) the Xerox 
Phaser 3116 is a PostScript printer, is this information correct?
Some research shows that this printer uses the SPL2 language. I think the SpliX 
driver should work here (http://splix.ap2c.org), please try one of the Samsung 
printers supported by this driver and leave a message if you find your printer 
to work.
The SpliX driver is included in Feisty, you can install it by running:
$ sudo apt-get install splix
