I found another cause for this behavior. None of the available fixes worked for me, so I did a clean install of beta 1 and everything was working fine. I then started moving back my old configuration step-by-step. As soon as I reached my custom .Xmodmap the issue started to re-appear. There were also some errors regarding .Xmodmap in .xsession-errors, but I am not sure whether that had anything to do with the weird behavior. Removing the .Xmodmap fixed the error on two different machines, though I have no idea why. :-)
tl;dr: If no other fixes work for you, try removing your .Xmodmap. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/649809 Title: the session settings manager can try starting before the login screen one exits -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
