I am seeing the original reported issue several times a day, and I just
got it while trying to create a launchpad account in Chrome. I seemed
to be getting the problem a lot when NetBeans' auto-completion would pop
up. I think the problem might have been when it popped up under the
pointer. I've turned it off and am having fewer problems (still at
least three so far today). Also trying to keep the pointer in a
different part of the screen to minimize the chances. But this wasn't
the case just now in Chrome. Not sure what happened there.

Anyway, same thing. Moving the mouse extends the selection. Keyboard
(including alt-tab) and right mouse button work fine. Have to reboot to
get rid of the problem.

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, GNOME, NetBeans 6.9.1.
Java: 1.6.0_24; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 19.1-b02
System: Linux version 2.6.32-30-generic running on amd64; UTF-8; en_US (nb)

Thanks.
