** Description changed: - This will seem trivial to some, but a lot of things respect the gconf + Almost all text areas in Ubuntu apart from in the Dash respect the gconf setting /desktop/gnome/interface/gtk_key_theme = "Emacs", to have the emacs directional navigation keys (ctrl-p, ctrl-n, ctrl-f, ctrl-b for up, down, right, left, among others). Those of us who don't like to move off the home keys would really, really appreciate it if this worked in the dash. It's great that I can summon it by tapping Super and start typing, but then having to shift around with the arrows spoils it. We keyboard heads love launching apps from the keyboard with minimal effort, e.g. with Gnome-Do.
