oh im sorry i wasnt explicit enough, let me explain: i tryed to install kubuntu on a 80gb maxtor hd wich was originally delivered with a compaq presario FS740. winxp was installed for years until the hd broke down (i think thant an energy failure damaged the disk) then i have tryed to recover the disk (the info was backed up earlier) by trying to install other OS so i picked up kubuntu but when i try to format the hole disk it sends that message so i don`t because is live cd i don´t undrestand wich archives are you talking about. Any how thanks for your help
