For what it's worth, here is the output from apt-get when I tried
reinstalling it. I am running Feisty, and don't know of this is the
error OP mentioned.

I also see that this bug has been assigned to the Kubuntu Team, which
may be a bug in it's own right. K3d is written in C++, but it's front
end is definitely GTK+, not QT or KDE.
