Hello, It looks like I am not the only one who is suffering problems with ACPI and overheating issues in Toshiba Laptops. Before I proceed with my question, I would suggest everyone to keep away from Toshiba. This Laptop is the worst I have ever seen. I had IBM ThinkPad for years and tried many Linux distros on it and never had a single issue!
Well, I've got the Satellite M505-S4972 laptop and yesterday, I have installed Ubuntu 10.10 netbook edition. The fan is not working and I tried many things but no luck! I cannot also change the brightness of my LCD becaue Fn doesn't work.. I have updated the system and downloaded all packages available but still have the same problem.. I have also tried to alter some of the parameters in the Grub file but it didn't work for me! I really liked Ubuntu and I want to stuck with it. Any help??
