This is most likely because gparted needs to run as administrator, and bamf is unable to match applications not running under the current user.
Note that gparted can be *added* to the launcher when installing it from Software Center. @Bilal: that’s right, gparted can be pinned to the launcher in unity, but it’s not persistent across sessions, so that’s rather useless.
