Public bug reported:
I have a multi-function USB device with a serial port, a parallel port
and two USB ports. A dialup modem is connected to the serial port, which
is given the name /dev/ttyUSB0.
I have configured GnomePPP to dial using /dev/ttyUSB0. GnomePPP dials
correctly, and passes some data. However, after a few seconds, it stops
receiving data from the modem. If I try to browse to a web site, I can
see data being sent (the Tx bytes increases), but no data is received
(Rx bytes stops at about 1K).
If I connect a different serial device to the serial port, then it works
correctly for as long as I have needed: up to 30 minutes. The problem
seems to be when handing over from wvdial to pppd.
The serial port seems to be a FTDI device -- see output from lsusb
below.
