Binary package hint: util-linux
When the mounting of a network drive via cifs fails during while booting
(eg the server is unavailable or the computer cannot access the
network), Ubuntu gets stuck there with the options to Wait, Skip or do
it Manually. If you choose to do it manually the you get thrown to a
shell command with root privileges, without having to type a password or
anything.
Here's an example from my /etc/fstab:
//<server>/user /home/user/homedir cifs
exec,credentials=/etccifspw,iocharset=utf8,_netdev,noperm,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777

This is the problem that caused me to notice the bug (I changed the
hostname for <server>)
