Please reproduce on Classic Desktop (no effects).
There is no indication in the X or kernel logs that the GPU froze. I do
notice this though:

However the varying timestamps suggest these messages aren't related to
the freeze. You could try tailing Xorg.0.log in an ssh session, and
reproduce the bug to see if the message correlates to the freeze, but
I'm guessing not.
