Hello Pedro, I thought I gave a fairly detailed explanation of how the problem arose. If there are many messages on the server (that keeps them available in case of a disc or other failure), and a download is interrupted, a second attempt to download may get all the messages and duplicate those already obtained. A similar problem may arise if messages are imported or restored from an old archive (to recover a deleted item). I normally have about 2500 on the server and about 6000 on my computer. In the case reported, I had downloaded about 2000 before the interruption, yielding about 4500 in total when the second download completed, leaving about 2000 duplicates to be found and removed by hand. TheBat, which I normally use in windows, will eliminate the duplicates for me I do not know of any other email programme with this essential feature.
