Unlike the bug this is apparently a duplicate of, this behaviour is NOT
fixed by unity version 3.8.4.
Here's some more information: the dash has problems dealing with font
DPI changes before and after logging in. After setting my font size back
from 150 to 96 (this is whilst running 3.8.4), the dash icons font size
changes but *not* the dash icon placement. I have attached a screenshot
to show this.
Once I had logged out and back in again, the dash icons were properly
aligned in the centre of the screen, just like they normally are on any
unity install.
