I'm not sure if this bug is, in my case, related to a conflict with compiz but it crashes lots of times when I'm running the Unity desktop or the classic desktop with the compiz effects enabled. Right now I'm running the 2D version of Unity and it hasn't crashed at all (Note that I have AMD privative graphics drivers and Ubuntu Natty 64-bit).
