Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: aptdaemon

Attempted to install a package from the Ubuntu Software Center. Tried
using the Synaptic Package Manager first, but after checking the box for
installing a package, it becomes unresponsive, and have to force quit.
I don't think it matters what package you are trying to install.
Problem with Synaptic Package Manager happened on more than one occasion
with different packages being selected. Freezes after selecting a
package that has other dependencies that need to be installed.
