I am very confused now. Are we reading the same bug report?? Your bug
description mentioned NOTHING about network problems. It talked about
being unable to upgrade to ubuntu 10.10. Here is a direct quote from
your description:
"Binary package hint: update-manager
I received this message while attempting to do an upgrade to 10.10 on my
System76 Serval notebook:
Could not calculate the upgrade
An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade:
E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by
held packages.
This can be caused by:
* Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu
If none of this applies, then please report this bug against the
'update-manager' package and include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/
in the bug report.
I can verify that option 1 and 2 do not apply. Only option 3 can be a
possibility from that above list.
As stated I have attached the files that are in the above folder.
If there is anything else I can do please advise.
Dorian"
As you can see, there is NO info about a broken network connection, only
the issue of not being able to upgrade. You even attached the error
message that occurs during the upgrade process.
