But, as I understand this issue, Andreas Herrmann's patch, <https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/kernel-team/2011-February/014739.html>, is the more general solution, and is being used in some Ubuntu versions, as well as upstream Linux kernel. I can't test this at the moment, as my girlfriend is doing a semester abroad in China (I'm in Germany), and I'm not too eager to guide her how to test this, over the telephone.
