We don't touch existing one on upgrade since ages, do you have that at
each startup?
Also, are you sure you didn't run unity --reset-icons which is doing
what it tells :)
IIRC, on another bug report, you don't have python-gconf installed, so as my
recent change in /usr/lib/unity/migrate_favorites.py
you shouldn't get ~/.local/share/unity/migration_script.log isn't it?
