Thanks, but it seems you forgot the precondition: "After switching back
to an old driver or Ubuntu version where wifi works". Please do that and
try again.

Also, to add to the above list it would be useful to know which Broadcom chip 
you have. You can find out by getting the output of:
    lspci | grep Network
