I just encountered this bug so it seems the patch has not been implemented yet.
When running 'autoreconf --install' on the C test framework 'Check' I get the 
following output:

My version of autoreconf is 2.67
Running Ubuntu 10.10
uname -a yields the following output:

Linux hje2 2.6.35-28-generic #49-Ubuntu SMP Tue Mar 1 14:39:03 UTC 2011
x86_64 GNU/Linux
