I am encountering this issue as well.

I have the same motherboard (ASUS M4A89TD PRO/USB3) -- this issue is
rather frustrating.

I have narrowed it down to an issue with ACPI and APIC. By disabling
"ACPI APIC Support" in my BIOS, I do not have this issue anymore,
however, it has rather nasty side effects; I'm only able to utilize one
out of my six CPU cores. This is not a solution.

I have attached a dmesg log of this bug in action. You can notice the
~145 second delay around 1.57 or so.

I can gather as much information as necessary, provided someone assists
me with "digging deeper". I would really like to see this bug resolved.
I have been in contact with ASUS as well, their "technician" told me
that Linux does not support ACPI, so I am not sure how far I am going to
get with them. I have submitted another ticket, hoping to reach someone
competent.
