Binary package hint: network-manager-kde
On the kubuntu-destktop there is plasma-wigdget-networkmanagement that
works fine.
but if you want install network-manager-kde the system removes plasma-
widget-networkmanagement .
so after that you can get the unmanaged icon, even if you have connected
your cable and you are browsing in internet so....
the fix it's always the same you can find on bugs.kde and it's this
sudo sed -i "s/managed=false/managed=true/g"
/etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf && sudo restart network-manager
