Binary package hint: xubuntu-desktop
I'm able to configure multiple desktops via the command line using:
xrandr --output DVI-1 --auto --right-of DVI-0
and it is flawless. Unfortunately, there is no option for this in the
"Display" GUI that, as far as I can tell, is supposed to reflect the
options in RandR 1.2
See attached screenshot, notice 1.) the desktop is spanned across both
displays correctly 2.) the Terminal window showing the commands that
work 3.) the Display window that lacks these configuration options.

Expected: Open the "Display" window under System Settings and have the
option to Clone or Extend the desktop across multiple monitors.
Instead: No option exists, although it works great via command line on
a vanilla installation.
