Fedora had a similar bug (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=500163) which is shown "closed upstream". The only difference is the use of option -f. And the fact is that using this option is another option to work-around this issue. But it does not seem satisfactory given the fact that this option is supposed to "overwrite an existing cache file even if it appears to be uptodate" (according to the man page).
