Wes, The fix has been released for Natty. If you're running Maverick or earlier
you can try installing the Natty packages manually:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/natty/all/pm-utils/download
http://packages.ubuntu.com/natty/all/laptop-mode-tools/download
I was able to install them on my Maverick laptop with no problem, but I
haven't verified yet that they fix the bug.
