Wesnoth music is installed (without which there is *no* music). I am talking about distortion and artefacts. Not clicks and pops - but the light hiss or raspy sound of something being clipped or poorly quantised. I will try it in feisty when I have a moment to boot it. I can also attempt to capture the sound somehow and attach the result. I do not think it is my sound hardware as I use it for music playback, music composition and plenty of other tasks without similar behaviour.
