I had the same problem. My solution was:
Unter "Tools --> Extension Manager..." the *SUN* presentation plugin was still
enabled and installed. After uninstalling this plugin and installing
libreoffice-presenter-console and libreoffice-officebean through apt-get
install ... it worked. (Not sure if libreoffice-officebean is necessary, but
don't like to mess around, because it works and i got a presentation later).

For the presentation settings, I have choosen at "Multiple displays"
"Display 2" which is the beamer and the console starts automatically on
my laptop display.

The SUN presentation plugin was automacially installed and activated
with the installation of Libre office. To uninstall openoffice, i used
apt-get remove --purge openopffice*. So I'm pretty sure there was
nothing left. Maybe I was forgotten to remove the SUN plugin when
shwitchtig vom open to libreoffice.
