For the output, can you please try starting alsamixer with this terminal command: "alsamixer -D hw:M2496" And make sure the controls "DAC" and "DAC 1" are unmuted and gain turned up sufficiently? For the full duplex, you said that "there is no option for simultaneous analogue input + output as I believe there was before", but looking at the log, it seems you have successfully selected exactly that profile.
