Public bug reported:
Tried a release upgrade to 11.04 yesterday (remote) and the machine
never came up after reboot. It could not find the root device.
I got an error message from udevd: inotify_add_watch(6, /dev/dm-1, 10)
failed: no such file or directory
But all the open bugs seemed not to fit on my situation.
The grub cmdline had root/dev/mapper/isw_fdadjaege_Volume01 and that
device were missing. Instead I found isw_fdadjaege_Volume0p1 and quickly
guessed that the missing device no were renamed.
Changed device name in menu.lst, and now my system boot again.
This is the only system I have using device mapper on root, so I'm not
able to reproduce. The system were installed as 10.04 and release
upgraded to 10.10.
