Thanks for you bug report. This is not a bug.
You really do not have the file "/var/run/cyrus/socket/". Postfix in
Ubuntu (and in Debian) run in a chroot located in /var/spool/postfix.
For your problem, you have several workarounds:
* make a link from /var/run/cyrus/socket to
/var/spool/postfix/var/run/cyrus/socket.
* remount with bind option /var/run/cyrus/socket directory in
/var/spool/postfix/var/run/cyrus/socket.
The first needs to be perform at each startup (or via a script), you can
do the second with a fstab entry. I personnaly use the second.
